Karen Bond – CEO and Founder
Ms. Bond’s career in medical sales and administration spans more than 30 years, beginning with Smith-Kline Beckman (GlaxoSmithKline) in 1977. At GlaxoSmithKline, Ms. Bond served as the Worldwide Medical Sales Manager for the medical imaging division. In 1985, she joined Loredan Biomedical, a manufacturer of computerized physical therapy equipment, as Vice President of World Wide Sales and later became President. Ms. Bond has served as CEO of Cedaron Medical since 1990 when she co-founded the company with Messrs. Bond and Engle. Ms. Bond earned a M.Ed. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Malcolm Bond Ph.D. - Chief Scientist and Founder
Dr. Bond is a 30+ year veteran of the medical industry. In 1980, he founded Loredan Biomedical, Inc., a manufacturer of computerized physical therapy equipment and built it into a $25 million company in four years. Dr. Bond’s entrepreneurial skills elevated Loredan to Inc. Magazine’s ‘500 fastest growing private companies in the US’ both in 1989 and 1990. Dr. Bond holds several patents for rehabilitation system designs and outcomes management. He has a Ph.D. in Physiology from University of California, Davis and has done Post Doctorate research at the University of Padova, Italy (The National Muscle Disease Research Center). Dr. Bond is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University College, London, England.
Gary Engle - Vice President of R&D and Founder
Mr. Engle has more than 25 years of experience in all phases of electronic and system design. He served as the Systems Engineering Manager for General Electric Medical Systems for six years and was the Lead Electronics Engineer at KLA Instruments Corporation for two years. In 1988, Mr. Engle joined Loredan Biomedical as the Senior Electronics Engineer for three years and later co-founded Cedaron Medical. Mr. Engle holds seven digital scan-conversion patents, as well as several patents for the design of rehabilitation systems. Mr. Engle earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Sacramento.
Darin Salk - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Salk has 25 years of business, financial and information technology experience. He has held key management positions in both public corporations and private enterprises and worked as a financial and information system controls consultant. Prior to joining Cedaron Medical, Mr. Salk co-founded an internet-based medical nutrition company and had a consulting practice providing Sarbanes-Oxley finance and IT consulting services. Mr. Salk worked as COO of KPMG’s West Area Tax group and as CFO of DISC Distributing Corp. Mr. Salk also held positions with Union Bank of California and First Interstate Bank. Mr. Salk received an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and a B.A., Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Joe Wurzer - Vice President of Sales
Mr. Wurzer has been a leading sales executive in the Healthcare Technology industry since 1988. Mr. Wurzer began his career with Medic Computer Systems where he advanced to become Vice President of Sales with Misys Healthcare, now part of the Allscripts Healthcare Company. Mr. Wurzer has held executive and management positions as Enterprise Sales Director with Sage Healthcare, now a division of Vitera Health and Vice President of Sales for Kareo, a web-based software solution for billing companies and medical offices. Prior to joining Cedaron, Mr. Wurzer was the Director of the Western Region for CareAnyware, a web-based Homecare and Hospice Software Solution. Mr. Wurzer has an MIS degree from Iowa State University as well as a B.A. from Westmar University.
Derek Le – Chief Technical Officer
Mr. Le joined Cedaron in 2008 and was promoted to CTO in 2009. Mr. Le’s previous experience includes 10+ years as a CRM Technical Architect, Software Engineer and DBA. Mr. Le has worked with organizations including Applied Sales Technology, Computer-Using Educators, Senior Care Advocates and BMW Canada. Mr. Le has a B.A., Information Systems from San Francisco State University.
Jennifer O’Campo – Customer Service and Training Manager
Ms. O’Campo has more than 12 years of experience working for the largest healthcare services company in the world. Beginning in 1998 at McKesson Corporation, Ms. O’Campo began in customer support, developing key principles that led to the development of a Command Center for centralized customer and technical support. During her service at McKesson Corporation, she held many cross-functional roles, including leading a Technical Support team and later becoming the Operations Support Services Manager. Ms. O’Campo successfully developed an extensive training program for technical support in a healthcare industry, as well as developing a “train the trainer program". She has also served as a Project Manager, in which she motivated commitments with key contributors to ensure project completion for high level business initiatives. Ms. O’Campo earned a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento in 2001.
